Album on Replay | Kodaline

If there's one thing I love to do when I have a bit of free time, which seems like hardly ever these days, it's to peruse through the musical wonderland of Spotify getting lost in an abundance of lyrical goodness, rehashing teen classics and getting excited when I find new artists to gush over and bop along to. This month I found Kodaline's 'Coming Up for Air' album which got me all very excited, I loved their album last year and I had no doubts that I wouldn't love this one. I wasn't wrong, it has literally been on repeat, everyday, all day; a backing track almost, filling my day with comfort and happiness, carrying me through the pile of final year course work that awaits.

I could go on all day explaining my love for each of the songs on their album but there were two or three, okay four, which I absolutely love. The first one is Autopilot, it's a really calm, slow song and I really like the meaning of this song; when everything gets a bit much and you just sort of become a bit empty and lost, and you're just sort of moving without any reason trying to find who you are. Whew, bit much for a Monday morning but yeah, I think it's just really nice to listen to. Autopilot is followed by Human Again, which really takes me back to the late 90's early 00's along with their song Ready which reminds me of U2 in a way. They're both really upbeat and Human Again just makes me giggle with my current situation of being glued to my laptop with piles of coursework and no social life. And lastly, Coming Alive, this one is probably my favourite if you had to make me choose (please don't), it's also very upbeat and as I write this I am bopping my head along to the tune - I do love to bop! It kind of reminds me slightly of the American Authors, it's just so summery sounding and makes me want to be at a festival with friends loving life.

Having said that, the album is really mellow and calming and it's one of those albums perfect for a rainy day when you just want to stay inside, wrap up in a blanket and just chill out feeling cosy and warm - with a cup of tea of course.

Who's music are you currently loving?
