Futuristic Spring Shades

Nails Inc. | Covent Garden Ballet, Bankside & Victoria Park
Coral Shade: Victoria Park |  Grey Shade: Covent Garden Ballet
Winter to me always sticks around and despite Wednesday's more optimistic post I feel living in the UK we do seem to just skip over Spring and Autumn, take a slight glimpse of Summer then bam its Winter again. And I feel all I ever do is wonder around in dark shades, heavy knits and 'practical' footwear prepared for whatever weather the British skies wish to grace us with. Don't get me wrong, I love my winter wardrobe and the richer tones of polish and lipstick we can wear but there does come a time when enough is enough! Especially for a girl who loves her florals, her blush pinks, lilacs and corals. So much so, that gone are the dark berry lips and navy nails and in come the pastels and brights. I am so ready for spring!

Last week I had a little venture into the "big city"; Manchester! Big for me, the small island Jersey Girl anyway! And well a shopping escapade just wouldn't be complete without a few new colours to add to my ever growing collection of nail polishes.

I found these 3 Nails Inc. wonders in TK Maxx and it was love at first glance... it always is. Victoria Park was from the Bright Sparks collection and has just contributed to my teeny weeny obsession with coral which is slowly branching out into clothing and footwear - I look quite the show some days! Haha. Covent Garden Ballet was from the Ballet Sheers collection which I chose just because it has such a beautiful obscure ever so slight iridescent shimmer (which was really hard to pick up on camera) and dusty grey tone which I felt was just a really nice contrast to the bright, rich coral to wear together - now my nails look like they've fallen out of a 70's retro Sci-Fi film! Logans Run? No...just me? And just when I though I was done swooning over the shades I found Mr. Modern Art here, Bankside, all colourful, mysterious and glittery and well I just had to, I mean it would have been too rude not to.

What shades are you loving for spring?

  3. Completely agree with you there, winter seems to go by ridiculously slowly and then the tiny bit of a nice, warm spring/summer we do get is over before we know it. There's only so much darkness you can take until you start getting bored! I definitely have a soft spot for the more lighter toned colours, Covent Garden Ballet is a gorgeous shade x

  4. It's so depressing isn't it. I'm currently wearing the Covent Garden Ballet and I have to say I just keep falling more and more in love with it. I'm just gutted I couldn't pick up its shimmer in the photo. xx
